They help people stay warm and save money.
WindowDressers is a non-profit organization building window inserts.
The inserts are two layers of plastic on a wood-frame.
Volunteers put the inserts together Monday at a workshop in Bangor.
“We would expect that most of the people who get our windows will be saving 10 to 20 percent off their fuel bill every year for 10 years while the windows last until they need to be re-covered,” said Frank Mundo, with WindowDressers.
Inserts cost $15 each.
