Police: Man Shot After Breaking Into Rome Home

State Police say a man who broke into a home in Rome was shot and killed by the man who lived there.

State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland says 44-year-old Christopher Dennison of Livermore Falls broke into a mobile home on Foss Hill Lane wearing a ski mask and brass knuckles around 8:00 Saturday night.

McCausland said 48-year-old Richard Duffy was home with his teenage son at the time of the break-in. McCausland said Duffy shot Dennison multiple times after a brief fight in the living room.

The Maine State Police and the Maine Attorney Generals office is investigating.

No charges have been filed and neither Duffy nor his son were not hurt.
