People came out on Sunday… out of the darkness.
The Annual Suicide Awareness walk was held in Orono.
Organizers believe this years turnout surpassed previous years by far.
They say suicide is the second leading cause of death for people ages 18 to 24.
“We just recognize that by not bringing awareness to this people aren’t getting the help they need. So we are incredibly grateful for so many people coming out today,” said Kelly Shaw the chairman of the walk committee.
Money at the Suicide Awareness Walk goes to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention.
