Four people were indicted by the Penobscot County grand jury Wednesday for sex crimes involving minors.

53-year-old Robert Peak, a registered sex offender from Hermon, is charged with gross sexual assault for allegedly raping a young girl.

The Penobscot County District Attorney’s office says the girl was under the age of 12 and she was assaulted in Hermon on Valentine’s Day.

In 1994, Peak was convicted of eight counts of gross sexual assault involving a victim under the age of 14.

Peak is currently in the Penobscot County Jail.

51-year-old Stephen P. Mooers of Bangor is charged with three counts of unlawful sexual contact.

Prosecutors say the case involves a 13-year-old girl in Dixmont in 2011.

47-year-old Tracy Parent of Bradley was indicted on two counts of unlawful sexual contact, unlawful sexual touching and assault.

He’s accused of abusing a 12-year-old girl last month.

And 21-year-old Alan Richmond of Brewer is charged with two counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.

Prosecutors say he contacted a 14-year-old girl through a social media site and coerced her into sending sexually explicit pictures of herself to him.

He allegedly sent similar photos to her.

When police seized his cell phone and computer, they say they found sexual explicit pictures of a 16-year-old girl, too.
