From the TV 5 Forecast Center:

Low pressure at both the surface and in the upper levels of the atmosphere will continue to spin over the Maritimes today and slowly drift to the south and east over the next 24-48 hours. With the storm in the vicinity, we’ll continue to see plenty of clouds and the chance for some showers today and Wednesday. Our forecast will improve as the week progresses with increasing sunshine and warming temperatures by Thursday through the weekend.

An upper level disturbance rotating around the departing storm to our east, will move across the state today providing us with a good chance for scattered showers. The best chance of scattered showers will be over areas north and east of Augusta while the rest of the state sees drier and brighter conditions today. With plenty of clouds overhead, cool air in place and a gusty northwest wind, temperatures will remain well below average today with highs mainly in the 50s this afternoon. Skies will be partly to mostly cloudy tonight and we may see a few showers during the overnight hours mainly for northern and eastern areas.

Low pressure will continue to pull away from the state on Wednesday. There’s a chance of a few lingering showers over northern areas during the morning otherwise it looks like Wednesday will be a dry day for most locales. Moisture wrapping around the departing storm will still result in a good amount of clouds throughout the day. Temperatures will be a bit milder with highs reachin g the mid-50s to low 60s for highs Wednesday afternoon. High pressure will slide in for the end of the week and through the weekend. We’ll see a great stretch of weather with sunshine and warming temperatures. Temperatures are expected to reach the 60s for highs Thursday and Friday and then 60s to low 70 on Saturday and Sunday.
