Fire Damages House in Old Town

Fire damaged a house Tuesday morning in Old Town.

It happened around 7:30am on Veazie Street.

Firefighters didn’t know if anyone was inside, but quickly learned that the house was empty.

“Knocked it down real quick, wasn’t probably 15, 10 minutes into it when interior crews notified us that the search was complete, nobody was residing in it,” explained Chief Steve O’Malley, with the Old Town Fire Department.

O’Malley doesn’t know yet what sparked the fire. He says there is a lot of damage in the back bedrooms of the house. O’Malley says there was no furniture in the house.
