More Clouds than Sun & Still Cool Wednesday

From the WABI-TV5 & CW Forecast Center:

The storm system that has produced the cloudy, breezy and unseasonably cool conditions across most of Maine the past two days continues to spin over the Canadian Maritimes. The storm both at the surface and aloft will move east very slowly tonight and tomorrow. As the storm gradually moves east the weather across our area will slowly improve as skies become a bit brighter tomorrow and temps moderate a bit closer to normal. The brightest skies in Maine tomorrow will occur over southwestern parts of the state, with the best chance of still seeing a few showers being found across the far north.

As the storm over the Maritimes drifts east high pressure currently centered over central Ontario will slowly build southeast towards New England. The high will bring partly sunny skies to our region Thursday and mostly sunny skies Friday through Sunday. The increased sunshine in Maine will allow the temps to reach closer to normal Thursday as highs climb into the upper 50s north to mid 60s south. Temps will continue to warm under mostly sunny skies Friday and Saturday as the high continues to build into the Northeast. Temps Friday will run in the 60s statewide, with temps Saturday ranging from the mid 60s to mid 70s from north to south. Temps will likely continue to warm Sunday as highs range from the high 60s north to mid 70s south.

Over the weekend a storm will likely develop east of the Southeast US Coastline. The storm will intensify as it begins to move north next week, but it is way too early to tell if the storm will have much impact on the weather across Maine or remain off to the east of New England next week.
