Man Accused of July 4th Standoff in Bangor Charged in Federal Court

A man accused of firing off seventy rounds of ammunition in downtown Bangor on the 4th of July has been charged in federal court.

Perrin Oliver, 43, is charged with being a felon in possession of a firearm.

According to court documents, Oliver was not allowed to have guns due to a conviction in 2008 in New York.

Police say on July 4th, Oliver fired shots out of a window of his Park Street apartment.

The tactical team eventually used tear gas to capture Oliver.

He has been charged in state court with criminal threatening and reckless conduct with a firearm.
