The Attorney General’s office is investigating a police officer-involved shooting in Searsmont, Friday.
State Police say around 3:00pm Friday, 42-year-old Leonard Maker was shot at his home by a State Trooper.
Maker’s wound is non-life threatening. Trooper James McDonald went to Maker’s home to on New England Rd to serve a protection from abuse order and arrest Maker on five warrants for failing to appear in court.
State Polcie say McDonald got into a confrontation with Maker– who had weapon, police would not specify what kind of weapon.
Maker was taken to Waldo County General Hospital and later transferred to EMMC.
He is now in custody. Trooper McDonald was placed on paid administrative leave, which is protocol for any trooper-involved shooting.
