A man was taken to the hospital after a motorcycle accident this afternoon.

It happened on Outer Hammond street, near Webb’s RV, around 4:30 pm.

Traffic was backed up for about a quarter mile while crews cleared the scene.

The man driving the motorcycle, William Saucier of Glenburn, 57, was taken into an ambulance by stretcher and brought to Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Police believe a driver, Joseph Salls of Hudson, 58, didn’t see Saucier when pulling out of the Target Industrial Circle.

They say Saucier hit the back of his car.

He is listed as being in serious but stable condition.

The accident is still under investigation.
