State Police Investigating Death of a Corinth Man

State Police are investigating the circumstances of how a Corinth man died early Sunday morning.

Police say 37-year-old Christopher Darner was found dead after he entered the home of his estranged wife on Beans Mill Road around 2:30am.

Detectives also say 24-year-old Kirt Damon, Jr. from Searsport suffered stab wounds during the incident inside the house. He is being treated for his injuries at Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor.

Police say Darner’s estranged wife, 22-year-old Miranda Darner, was home at the time of the incident. She has a protection order against Darner who she has been separated from.

Authorities say 21-year-old Zachary Joseph from Belfast was also in the home at the time of the violence, but neither he nor Miranda Darner were injured.

Detectives say they are continuing to investigate the circumstances of the incident and that no one has been arrested or charged.

Police say the three others inside the home been fully cooperating with investigators.

An autopsy is scheduled on Darner Monday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta.
