RSU 20 Voters to Decide on a Proposed Budget for the Third Time

Voters from RSU 20 will head to the polls for the third time on Tuesday. This time, the proposed budget for the district is about $33.4 million. That’s less than a 1% increase from last year. The Assistant Superintendent John McDonald tells TV5 that administrators have listened to the public and believe this new budget covers many of the issues. In the proposal, the district would cut the food service and technology budget by $20,000 each.Secretaries would also have reduced hours. However, McDonald says they are reinstating an art program and returning a resource counselor to one of the High School’s.While more than 100 voters approved of this new budget on Sept 10th, the final decision will come next week.
