VT Caseworker Pleads Not Guilty to Unlawful Sexual Contact in Maine

A Vermont caseworker indicted in Maine for unlawful sexual contact has pleaded not guilty. Jeffrey Parfitt, 26, entered the plea Wednesday in a courtroom in Bangor. Parfitt is accused of going to a home in Bangor to follow-up with a child, younger than 12, about her current living situation. Police say Parfitt performed an unnecessary and inappropriate exam on the child after asking the girl’s dad to leave for privacy. Parfitt’s bail is $1,500.
