Community Members Make Sure Mainers “Live United”
United Way of Eastern Maine kicked off its campaign for the 2013 season with a rally at Bass Park.This is to get excited about raising money throughout the year to benefit people in eastern Maine.A number of businesses walked the track to show their support of the community as well.”Oh it’s amazing. It’s very inspiring. I mean we do what we do every day and we love it. And it’s very important to all of us that work at united way to help the community, but it’s wonderful to see everybody come out and support us and all of our partners that do this great work to help people,” said Shirar Patterson, VP of Community Impact, United Way of Eastern Maine.United Way of Eastern Maine serves 5 counties.They say they hope to help more than 30,000 people this year.
