Food and Medicine Deliver Petition to Senator Collins on Behalf of Maine Seniors 

A group is Bangor is speaking out on Behalf of Maine’s Seniors.Food and Medicine members joined together outside the Bangor Library on Friday. They delivered a petition to Senator Susan Collins’ Office. Members said even more Baby Boomers are heading for retirement and there is a shortage in healthcare workers. The Director of Food and Medicine, Jack McKay, said “We have the 2nd fastest growing population. We’re the oldest station in the nation. This is not only a moral issue about taking care of our seniors. It’s also a jobs issue.”McKay said this issue is growing even more important because every eight seconds, someone turns 65 in America.
