Kennel Shop Raising Money to Fund Rabies Vaccine Research

The owners of a local pet shop are raising money for a cause close to them. From now until Friday, customers of Green Acres Kennel Shop are asked to contribute to “The Rabies Challenge Fund”. Don and Paula Hanson joined the cause as a way to remember their dog Tikken. As a four-year-old, she has a severe reaction to a rabies vaccine and almost died. The charitable organization argues that over-vaccination is a global issue and the Hansons hope to support their research, “to prove that the rabies vaccine will last longer than what it is currently labeled for and to also work with legislatures and municipalities to change laws so that they don’t require dogs to be vaccinated,” said Don. Green Acres will match donations up to $1,500. To support their cause, you can find them online at or shop.
