Former Troy Town Treasurer Pleads Not Guilty to Stealing Money From Town

The former town treasurer in Troy accused of stealing thousands of dollars from the town has pleaded not guilty. 56-year-old Kathleen Mattingly of Troy is charged with theft. She appeared in court in Belfast yesterday after being indicted by a grand jury earlier this month.Mattingly was arrested in June after authorities say they uncovered nearly $20,000 missing from the town.Mattingly was treasurer from January of 2012 until March.Her son, 31-year-old William Mattingly, also appeared in court on an unrelated theft charge. He pleaded not guilty, too.
