After 30 years on the job, a member of the Bangor police department is retiring. Pat Pinkham has been animal control officer in Bangor for 3 decades. She says the job has changed over the years. Saying it’s not just picking up stray animals anymore. It’s a job she says has been rewarding.“The highs are very rewarding, the lows, you go home and you hug your animals and say you don’t know how lucky you’ve got it. You have to kind of separate yourself which is really hard to do,” said Pat Pinkham, Retired Animal Control Officer, Bangor.Pinkham is moving to Florida in October. She says she plans on volunteering at an animal sanctuary down there.
