Bangor Educators Help Fill the Good Shepard Food Bank

A handful of Bangor teachers are helping their students outside of the classroom.Members of the Bangor Education Association organizing a food drive in Brewer on Wednesday.It’s part of the Educators year-long commitment to their local communities, this time it was all about “Focus on Food.”Teachers donated the non-perishable items to the Good Shepard Food Bank. President of the Bangor Education Association and Middle School Teacher, Anne Mourkas “People just brought bags and boxes and money and it was really exciting there was a lot of energy. People were looking for a way to contribute.”In total, the BEA donated 835 lbs of food and $321. Each dollar is equivalent to four meals for a child.
