Friends Come Together to Help a Co-Worker After a Serious Injury
Friends and Co-workers are coming together to help out one of their own. Kendall Dunbar is the president of local 1821 National Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers.Friends said Dunbar took a fall a few weeks ago and has been recovering at Eastern Maine Medical Center.Doctors said he’s temporally paralyzed from the waist down.Now, his coworkers are coming together to make Dunbar’s home handicap accessible. Dunbar’s Friend, Brian Abbott, said if the table’s were turned, Dunbar would be the first to help out. “When you’re laying on your back in the hospital and you’re paralyzed from the waist down, you have nothing to do but worry and were trying to take some of those worries off his shoulders.”Dunbar is expected to leave the hospital with in the next month.Volunteers hope to have the house even more handicap accessible by then.
