Bangor Walk to Defeat ALS Raises More Than $40,000 

More than 300 people raised $42,000 for ALS research.It’s the 6th Annual The Bangor Walk to Defeat ALS.A record number of people came out on Sunday to raise money for the Neuro-muscular disorder, also known as Lou Gehrig’s disease.The money raised stays in New Hampshire and Maine.Some funds from the event will go to the Jackson Laboratory for research. Chair of the Bangor walk, Janice Von brook, said “Our theme for today is hope for the future because with ALS you don’t get better but we want to raise money for research so somebody is going to figure out what’s going on with this disease and other people won’t have to hear this diagnosis.”Organizers wanted to make the event as fun as possible, especially for the patients and families who battle the disease on a day to day basis.
