Updated 1 year ago

A Surry man has pleaded guilty to charges of kidnapping a man who was selling a car and stashing him in the car’s trunk during a trip to Delaware. Federal prosecutors say Travis Landry, 29, changed his plea on charges of interstate kidnapping and brandishing a firearm related to the kidnapping. Law enforcement authorities say Alexander Filatov, 19, of Gorham was trying to sell his 2004 BMW on Craigslist when he met a potential buyer, Landry, and together they went for a test drive. Court records say after the test drive, Landry ordered the man into the trunk and showed a handgun. Police say the victim was freed in Delaware and Landry was arrested May 7th in North Carolina after a high-speed chase.
