The Ronald McDonald House in Bangor is getting a little work done, thanks to some local hardware store employees. It’s part of the Lowe’s Hero Project. The company encourages their associates to get out into the community and help. For the past week, employees from the Bangor Store have been remodeling the deck, painting, and planting at the home. Manager of Advancement Services at the Ronald McDonald House in Bangor, Deandra Briggs, said the little improvements make the patients feel more at home. “Having beautiful grounds and having beautiful things around, flowers and just being able to enjoy themselves outside is very important to the success of our house.”Bangor Lowe’s Assistant Store Manager, Mark Gray, said “It’s nice to give back to the community and improve something in our community. I live in Bangor, so giving back to the city is a great thing.”The Lowes employees donate their time for the project, which is completely funded by their company.
