The Department of Environmental Protection is paying back Maine cities and towns for landfill closure costs.Greenville’s interim town manager received a check today for more than $63,000 dollars.The state had stopped payments to 12 communities that fronted the cost of closure for their local unlined landfills.More checks will be given out in the next few months.
