Bail Set High for Plymouth Man Accused of Domestic Assault

A Plymouth man with a history of assaulting women, is behind bars amid accusations he repeatedly battered a woman last Thursday.Philip Dumont is charged with domestic violence assault.Police say he and the alleged victim lived together on the Ridge Road.Dumont is accused of assaulting her multiple times overnight Thursday, and not allowing her to leave the residence.According to police, she was able to get a message to her mom, who then called 911.Authorities say they noticed cuts on the woman’s head, neck, arms, lower back and legs. She was taken to a hospital.In court Monday, Dumont’s attorney argued it was actually another medical condition that prompted the hospital visit.Dumont has two prior domestic violence assault convictions, both with different victims. Because of that, the charge is a felony and bail was set at $5,000 cash.
