Intoxicated Lincoln Man Attempts to Escape Police Custody
Bail is set at $5,000 cash for an East Millinocket man accused of trying to escape police custody.Lincoln police received a call for a man who broke into an apartment on Main Street and was passed out. Upon arrival, they found 23-year old Kai Weatherbee.The responding officer said Weatherbee was extremely intoxicated, and passed out. Police say Weatherbee also had Oxycodone on him.When Weatherbee learned he was being taken to jail, he allegedly bolted while still handcuffed. Lincoln Police Officer Redmond caught him around the back side of the police station. In court Monday, Weatherbee’s attorney claims his client used to live in the apartment building and was confused because he was drunk.He’s charged with felony escape and drug possession as well as criminal trespass and violating the conditions of his release.Weatherbee is on probation for a burglary conviction in 2012.Bail was set at $5,000 cash.
