AG’s Office: Man Killed after Confrontation with Police in Grindstone 

A man from Grindstone died Saturday night after a confrontation with police on Frazier Road. Maine Attorney General’s office told TV5 Robert Bellfleur, 78, was shot and killed by East Millinocket Police Officer Seth Burns. The AG’s office said a Penobscot County Sheriff and East Millinocket Police Officer responded to Fraizer Road when a neighbor said Bellfleur was harassing them.Officials said the officers told Bellfleur to get back into his residence. They said the 78-year-old then returned with a shotgun and got into an armed confrontation with the authorities. The Attorney General’s office said Bellfleur died at the scene. The office will now investigate the incident, which is standard procedure in any officer involved shooting.
