Summer’s rapidly running out for school kids. For the 10th year, Penquis is stuffing a bus with donated school supplies for those in need. The bus is parked outside the Lincoln Wal-Mart. It will be there all day Saturday, too.Organizers say that it takes an average of $90 to send a child to school, and every little bit helps.”When people donate to the back to school supply, I think it sends the message to kids that their education is important, and that someone cares about them, and we’ve had parents say that you’re really showing my kid the value of education, and that the community cares,” said Renae Muscatell. This event helps more than 100 kids in the Lincoln area. For more information, go to penquis.org.
