Autopsy: Calais Man Who Reportedly Shot Woman and Baby Died from Self-Inflicted Wound 

A Calais man who police say shot a woman and her baby in July died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound. TV 5 has a copy of the medical examiner’s autopsy report for Daniel Pinney, 26, which says he died when he shot himself in the head with a handgun.Pinney reportedly confronted Megan Sherrard, 21, in a parking lot and forced her to return with him to a house in Calais. Calais police officers went to the home and shot at Pinney just as the mother and baby were running out of the house. Sherrard and her son survived the shooting. According to the autopsy report, the bullet that killed Pinney was from a 9mm weapon, not a larger caliber weapon used by police. The Office of the Attorney General continues its investigation into the case.
