Bangor International Airport has landed some federal cash to do upgrades. Nearly a million dollars will go to fill in a canal at the end of the runway where ducks gather during the winter. The grant money will also pay for new runway lights and electrical upgrades in the terminals. “Well it’s certainly very significant that an airport such as the size of Bangor can do these types of constructions projects. Our terminal certainly needs some upgrades here, but again it comes back to improving passenger service and passenger flow and the efficiency here at the airport and also maintaining safety as well,” said Tony Caruso, the airport’s director. The renovations also include security efficiency upgrades and a 2.5 million dollar terminal project.
