There’s a new trail ready for you to walk on in Bangor. Bangor Land Trust opened the Central Penjajawock Preserve and loop trail. It’s a people-only trail. Animals and bikes are not allowed. During Tuesday’s opening, students who were members of the student council from the William S. Cohen School, gave a $100 donation to Bangor Land Trust. ” When we conserve land in perpetuity, you know, perpetuity depends on the future generations being interested and so I just, this is a seed that’s sprouting, that’s just a thrilling thing,” said Lucy Quimby, president of Bangor Land Trust. ” We wanted to help preserve the beauty of Bangor. These trails are what really makes Maine,” explained Sarah Gilmore, former vice president of student council at William S. Cohen School. The trail is a 1.5 mile loop. The parking area for the trail is on Essex Street, just south of the Burleigh Road intersection.
