Bangor Dog Park Hopes to Expand
The month of August is known as the dog days of summer, so what better way to spend those days than with man’s best friend?The Bangor Dog Park hosted its one year party on Sunday.Part of the celebration became a fundraiser.Park organizers want to expand the space for Fido.They plan to double the size of the large dog area and put in a training yard for owners trying to tame their pets.Park chairperson, Dawnette Carver, said the park is gaining more popularity and dog owners are becoming like family. “A lot of people tell us when they go into the store they don’t recognize the person as a name they recognize them as oh you’re Zoey’s mom or you’re Bella’s mom so that’s kind of nice too. You can also attend their weekly meetings on Tuesdays at 6pm at the Main Street Parks and Rec office.
