Spark Bangor Wants Downtown Murals

Some Bangor residents would like to see more art on public display downtown.Spark Bangor, a new community non-profit, will pitch a plan for a building mural to the Bangor Historic Preservation Committee tomorrow. The mural would be on Hammond Street across from the Hammond Street Senior Center. Spark Bangor founder, Jennifer Hooper says she hopes to get community support at tomorrow’s meeting. “The city of Bangor has really adopted a strategy of using arts and culture to revitalize the downtown community, and I see this mural project as just being one more step that’s a part of that process to bring more vibrancy to downtown,” Hooper said. Everyone is invited to the meeting tomorrow night at 7:00pm at Bangor City Hall. For more info go to sparkbangor.com
