TRENTON, Maine (AP) — A Maine man charged in the death of a man whose remains were recently recovered is due in court.
Law enforcement officials say William Morse was scheduled to make his initial court appearance Friday or Monday after being arrested and charged with murder Thursday in the death of 61-year-old Richard Bellitieri, also of Trenton.
Nobody reported Bellitieri as missing after last being seen in June 2012, but Bar Harbor police became aware when Morse was arrested for drunken driving last month. Bellitieri’s remains were found Sunday.
Maine State Police Spokesman Steve McCausland says Morse and Bellitieri knew each other. More information may be released when Morse appears in court.
