ROCKLAND, Maine (AP) — Gov. Paul LePage and Maine’s top fisheries official are making an appearance at the Maine Lobster Festival.

LePage and Marine Resources Commissioner Patrick Keliher will be in Rockland to help celebrate the state’s signature seafood.

The five-day festival kicked off Wednesday and continues through Sunday. It’s now in its 66th year.

The festival each year draws about 100,000 visitors who eat more than 20,000 pounds of lobster.
