Oakland Police To Host National Night Out Event

The Oakland Police Department and Messalonskee Middle School will host a “National Night Out” next week.It’s designed to bring the community and the police together to help prevent crime.More than 15,000 communities throughout America take part in the National Night Out program.This is the first year Oakland will host one.”National Night Out is a nationwide block party that the police department will host that’s just a thank you barbecue type of event for just working with the police department to deflect crime,” said Todd Burbank of the Oakland Police Department.Oakland’s National Night Out takes place next Tuesday, August 6, from 5:00t-8:30 at the Messalonskee Middle School on School Bus Drive in Oakland.
