Crews Work To Correct An Odor On The Bangor Waterfront

Updated 1 year ago

Wet weather this month has created a somewhat smelly situation on the Bangor Waterfront.Heavy rain has caused issues with the natural grass surface that was put in at Darling’s Waterfront Pavilion. It can cause a not so pleasant odor.City officials say it’s not toxic.”The amount of rainfall we had was starting to create a natural process that created an odor in the surface, so what we’ve done, we’ve taken the sod, we’ve removed the existing sod, that has become saturated, as well as the lome underneath it. We’re going to add additional drainage, resurface it,” said Tracy Willette, Director, Bangor Parks and Recreation. We’re told the work will be done in time for a free country concert on the waterfront Thursday night.
