For many who live in the Bangor area, the Neighborhood Block Party at Chapin Park is a summertime tradition. This Tuesday night is the 19th Annual State Street Old Fashioned Block Party. It started in 1994, as an opportunity for State Street businesses to give back to the neighborhood.Since then, it has become an event to look forward to, with 1,000 to 2,000 community members showing up for it.Kids can enjoy Anah Shrine clowns, face painting, and a bounce house this year. The block party is Tuesday night from six to eight at Bangor’s Chapin Park. The park is behind the Abraham Lincoln School between Forest and Parkview Avenues. If you live locally, you’re urged to walk to the event to save parking for those from farther away.
