Police Searching For Winslow Bank Robbers

Police in central Maine are looking for a pair of men bank robbers .Sgt. Haley Flemming of the Winslow Police Department said the robbers had handguns when they entered the Bangor Savings Bank on China Road in Winslow just after 11:00 Friday morning and ordered everyone to get down on the floor.Flemming says the robber made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.State Police, Kennebec County Sheriff’s and Waterville Police responded to aid Winslow Police as they combed the area in search of the two men.Part of the China Road was shut down for around three hours while authorities tried unsuccessfully to find the robbers.The first robber is described as:* White* 50-to-60 years old * Weighing about 250-pounds* Graying handlebar mustache.The other suspect is described as: * White * Between 20-and-30 years old * Speaks with a slight accent.Both men wore stained painters coveralls, work boots and sunglasses during the robbery.If you have information you’re asked to call Winslow Police 872-5215.
