Thousands of pounds of food were given out Wednesday in Bangor. The Good Shepherd Food Bank’s Food Mobile stopped at Together Place Housing in Bangor. Officials with Together Place say they have a food and soup pantry and have seen a 56% increase in need in the past year. “Unfortunately we haven’t seen an increase in donations to be able to match that, so we have been really doing a lot to try to, grassroots fundraising basically. Trying to get stuff in whether it’s monetary donations, food, non-food items, there’s a huge need for everything,” said Angie Brown, administrative assistant for Together Place. ” I think it’s very beneficial for all the hungry people in the state of Maine. I think they do a great job here,” said Kathy Eastman, who was picking up food on Wednesday. To learn more about Together Place, or to make a donation, click here.
