Women’s Initiative Cleanup Effort Planned For Saturday In Waterville

A Waterville non-profit is asking for help cleaning up trash in parts of the city.The “Women’s Initiative” is behind a cleanup effort this Saturday.The group plans to start in this alley behind the Goodwill store in The Concourse.The group’s founder, Martha Dempski planned a similar event two years ago and 16 volunteers show up to help out. This year, she’s hoping even more.”We’re hoping to have 20 volunteers,” Dempski said. “We have 4 or 5 people lined up so far and we have donations of water from several of the local organizations. REM is giving us some water for hydration.”If you’d like to help, show up in the alley behind Goodwill in Waterville from 9:00 Saturday morning.Bring any rakes, shovels, gloves and trash bags you might have.The cleanup is from 9:00 to noon.For more information call: 692-0290
