A “fun” run in Bangor on Saturday to support a fun festival.More than fifty runners, both serious and recreational, showed up for the Fun Run for the American Folk Festival, a 5k along the Bangor waterfront. All money raised will go towards the Folk Festival.Race organizers hoped to raise around $1,000.This was the first time Epic Sports put on the benefit race and they hope to attract even more runners next year.”We’re always looking for ways to raise money. The Folk Festival is a free event. It doesn’t mean it doesn’t cost anything because it costs nearly a million dollars to put it on. We are always looking for creative ways. This is a fun and even a healthy way to have a good time and raise a little money for the Folk Festival,” said Race Director and Owner of Epic Sports, Brad Ryder. The American Folk Festival is on August 23rd, 24th, and 25th.For more information, visit their website American Folk Festivalor Facebook page American Folk Festival.
