Crash Near Jackman Kills Two Hospitalizes Two Others

Somerset County Sheriff’s are saying speed and alcohol are factors in an accident that killed a Jackman woman and her teenage passenger and sent two others to the hospital.The accident happened Wednesday night around 8:30 in Long Pond Township near Jackman on the Route 6 cutoff, a connector road between Route 15 and Route 201. A U.S. Border Patrol Agent witnessed the crash.Chief Deputy Dale Lancaster of the Somerset County Sheriffs Department said 21-year-old Jessica Worster of Jackman was driving the 1999 Subaru Legacy station wagon that crashed. Worster was pronounced dead at the scene.Also killed was 17-year-old Brook Giroux of Moose River.Lancaster said 18-year-old Anthony Carrier of Jackman and 22-year-old Kyle Hoyt of Moose River were taken to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.Lancaster says the crash is still under investigation.
