Man Acquitted of Murder Charged with Arson

A man who was acquitted of murder and manslaughter charges in a 2004 shooting is now charged with arson. Deputies arrested Jerome Reynolds Jr., 62, of Brooks, last week. Reynolds reportedly poured motor oil on his wife’s car and set it on fire after they got into an argument about his drinking. Waldo County Chief Deputy Jeff Trafton tells TV 5 that Reynolds is also charged with assault and refusing to submit to arrest. In 2004, Reynolds was accused of shooting his father’s girlfriend to death but was acquitted in 2005.
