Early Morning Fire In Bangor Closes Road – UPDATED

The intersection of Hammond and Cedar Streets was closed Monday morning as fire crews clean up from a fire there.The initial call came in a little bit before 4 am.When crews arrived fire and smoke was showing from the first floor unit in the back of the building. It is a ten unit apartment building, and all of the tenants are accounted for.All of the stations in Bangor responded to the blaze and other towns were called in for additional coverage.”We did rescue, Six’s crew rescued, Six’s crew did transport one resident to Saint Joseph hospital, i’m not sure of his condition at this time, he walked to the ambulance,’ said Bangor Assistant Fire Chief, Anthony Riitano.The state Fire Marshal will investigate.UPDATE : 8:30am – Roadway is open once again to all traffic.
