Bangor City Officials Approve Hotel Plan 

It looks like Bangor could get a new hotel just across the street from the Cross Insurance Center.A plan was approved unanimously on Monday night by city councillors to sell a 3-acre plot of land on Dutton Street to hotel developer, Ocean Properties, for about a half-million dollars.The company plans to build an $18-million, 130 room hotel once they receive the necessary permits and approvals for the project. If approved, construction could begin as early as next spring and be complete the following summer.Ocean Properties, which began in Maine, owns more than 100 resort properties in North America.
