Updated 1 year ago

A small group of women held a bottle drive to support a good cause.Save the Racks is a 3-member team who raised money in Hampden on Sunday looking to raise $2,300 for each member to be able to participate in the Boston 3-day walk at the end of July. The money raised goes to support the Susan G. Komen fund, but the team members are doing it for a reason a little closer to heart.Team Captain Bobbi McLain said, “We were inspired to do this because a coworker of ours was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and she’s been fighting her battle. She has her last treatment coming up in a couple weeks. so we’re really excited, very motivated and inspired by her.”So far, “Save the Racks” is about halfway to their goal.Their next fundraising event will be a dinner at Oriental Jade in Bangor on July 15th.
