A Mother charged with the murder of her 2-year-old daughter says she’s not guilty. Leanna Norris, 24, has been charged in connection with the death Loh Grenda. Public Safety Spokesman Stephen McCausland said Norris was arrested on Wednesday and taken into custody from a medical facility in Rockport where she had been receiving treatment.The toddler’s body was found in a car in Stetson last month.The Chief Medical Examiner has ruled the death a homicide, but there is no information as to how the girl died. Norris entered a not guilty plea to the murder charge in a Bangor courtroom on Friday.She will be held without bail.The judge said no affidavit has been filed in the case, so there are little details as to what actually happened.Norris’ Attorney, Martha Harris said the next step in the case is for her to get her hands on the police report. “There may be a need to have a title 15 exam that’s regarding her mental state, her ability to stand trial and so on and so forth. So that may be coming forward. But first things first we need to get the police reports and find out what they’re charging her with.”The attorney tells TV5 Norris appears to be in awe, hasn’t said much, and really doesn’t know what’s happening. Assistant Attorney General Andrew Benson did not have any comment on the arraignment. Harris Guesses it will be another six months before the case is brought to trial.
