Police: Man Killed at Bangor 4th of July Parade

Bangor police say there has been a deadly accident on Water Street. Sgt. Paul Edwards with the Bangor Police Department says a tractor was hit from behind by an old fire truck in the Bangor 4th of July parade. Edwards says the driver of the tractor was killed. It happened on Water Street where the parade was rerouted due to a man reportedly shooting out of a window on Park Street in Bangor. ” It was scary. It was scary for one. This was the first time I’ve ever seen something like this. I’ve seen this only on TV and like that,” said John Bunker, who was watching the parade. ” It was awful. It was just terrible. I asked if we could bring grief counselors down to talk to people. I would urge that if anyone did see that, please call us. Not only for the information we could use for the report, but call us so we can get you some help. Talk to someone. Please talk to your doctor, physician, psychologist. They can help,” said Sgt. Paul Edwards with the Bangor Police Department. Police have not told us the name of the man who was killed.
