The Bangor waterfront was rocking Thursday night. The Chords for a Cure Benefit Concert kicked off Thursday afternoon and went until the fireworks started. Lots of bands took the stage, with the Stone Doctors, a Rolling Stones tribute band, as headliners. It’s a fun way to get people together and raise money for a good cause. ” I remember back when we first started doing this as a Kiwanis group, people would say, well, what do I do between the parade and the fireworks? We had nothing for them to do, now of course, we do have something for them to do all day long,” said Doug Damon, a member of the Bangor Fourth of July Corporation. All of the proceeds go to the Raish Peavey Haskel Children’s Oncology Center and Sarah’s House of Maine.
